As an experienced  teacher  at Wahroonga,  Cammeray, and Queenwood Schools, I am up to date with the needs of the K-6 child and requirements of Stage 1 and 2.
Having spent much time and training in Assessment strategies, I have the necessary skills to evaluate the special needs of the individual child and to develop and carry out a tutoring  program in the following areas:

General
- At times students can fall behind and without the basic scaffolding in place, experience difficulty in moving forward.  Tutoring can help these students to catch up and regain confidence.

Remedial Reading /Language - Educators are aware that children learn to read using many different strategies. Extra help in areas such as phonics can help the student to move forward dramatically.

Mathematics - Assessment strategies can reveal the areas of difficulty and extra activities given to promote understanding

NAPLAN tests skills in literacy and numeracy that are developed over time, through the school curriculum.  Extra practice re the general format of this testing can help with confidence and results.

GATS
- Gifted and Talented children often have unmet needs - these children can benefit from individual work to develop and acknowledge these abilities

ESL - (Teaching English as a Second Language) - TESOL training and experience in this field enables me to help with language development.

Computer - Assistance can be given to help develop skills and confidence for home research

Personal Issues - Experience in Conflict Resolution, Mediating, Communication Skills - Your child lives in a complex world and can need support with appropriate responses to the challenges.
Hourly rate  - $50 per hour    $40 for 2nd hour

Your child lives in a complex world and may need support.
I live in the Mosman area and can either come to your home or tutor in my own home.          Claire
